This year, presentation night was
again held at the Station Hotel in Prahran, and an enjoyable night was
had by all. A great turnout saw the presentation of the Best and
Fairest for each team, as well as the election of our club committee.
Congratulations to all of the new and returning committee members.

SPRING
CLUB DINNER
On the eve of the Parkville Spring
Season commencement, a great night was had by the 25 or so netballers
and friends that hit the Geebung for the second Club Dinner of the
year. It was a great chance to meet fellow opposition and get to know
new teammates. The food was as fast as our players on court and
devoured almost as quickly! More opportunities to see teammates off
court in civilian attire coming soon! Thanks to all players and friends
that made the night a standout on the Netball Club social calendar!

MONASH
GAMES
The annual Monash Games was held in
mid July. It was a good fun competition, and our very own netball
club team won the netball
competition! Congratulations Monash netballers!

MIXED
TEAMS
Congratulations!! Both our royal
park mixed teams won their way through to their respective grand
finals, with our D grade team narrowly losing by 4 goals in a tight
game, and our A grade team, victorious by 3 goals!
From next season, we will be
entering a 3rd team into the competition. This is the
perfect chance for anyone who has considered playing mixed netball in
the past. For more information, please contact the club at monashnetballclub@gmail.com.
But for now, congratulations to
both our teams!! To see photos, click here.

WAVERLEY UPDATES
Firstly, congratulations to Monash
Platinum and Monash Bronze for making the grand finals at Waverley. Both teams
played extremely well and were narrowly beaten on the day. Jen Galea
from Platinum was awarded player of the match which is an outstanding
effort, winning her a netball presented by Vixen players Chelsea Nash
and Julie Corletto. Well done Jen!
This season, for the first time
ever, Monash will have six teams entered in the Waverley competition. Monash Gems
(pictured below) has been formed from the members of the 2009
development squad and will be entered into division 6. Emily Uhe will
be leading the team. Good luck girls!

We have two new Waverley captains. Monash Diamonds
will be led by Tiffany Gill, and Monash Silver by Rebecca Heinjus.
Thank you girls for taking on these leadership roles. Also, this year,
teams will be required to pay $56 per game. Please make sure you pay
this before your games.
Finally, training will recommence
on Thursday July 23rd at the sports centre. All players are
required to attend. Good luck for the season, lets show how strong
Monash netball is!

MOTHERS
DAY CLASSIC
Monash netball club was again well
supported at the Mother’s Day Classic on Sunday 10th May.
The run helps raise money for breast cancer research, and is definitely
a worthy cause. For photos of Monash netballers on the day, click here. For all results, click here.
